If you are trying to lose 5-10 kg in a week then look no further than the GM diet.
The GM diet, also known as the General Motors diet, is a seven-day weight loss plan that claims to help individuals lose a significant amount of weight in a short period. However, it’s important to note that the GM diet is a fad diet and not supported by scientific evidence.
Various different food groups are allotted in different days of the week according to the need
GM diet says that foods in the diet are ” negative -calorie foods.” meaning they provide fewer calories than they take to digest. So, your body ends up burning more calories than it is provided.

DAY1- Fruit day
Avoid banana and you are good to go with the rest of the fruits. You can eat as many fruits as you want to satisfy your hunger. However, Melon, Citrus, and Apples are considered the best choice for this day.
DAY 2- Vegetable day
You are allowed to eat vegetables in raw or cooked form. In breakfast, you can eat one cup of boiled potatoes with little salt and pepper. The rest of the day eat a salad made with your favorite vegetable. Use boiled and balanced vegetables for effective weight loss.Don’t use oil for cooking.
Day 3- Fruits & Vegetable Day
You are allowed to eat all fruits except banana and all vegetables except potatoes. Starting your day with fruits and then continuing the day with the rest of your favorite vegetables and fruit will be a good practice
Day 4- Banana & Milk Day
Finally, the day you were waiting for has come you can have the food which you were avoiding for 3 days.
you can have 2 bananas and a glass of milk in the morning. 6 to 8 bananas are recommended along with the 3 glasses of skimmed milk on this day. Avoiding sugar will be a smart choice also you can add cinnamon or cocoa if you like.
Day 5- Tomato Day
Beef, Fish or Chicken can be taken on two 10 ounces on this day. Don’t worry if you are vegetarian non-veg can be replaced with cottage cheese or another source of protein and brown rice.
Eat a maximum of 6 tomatoes either raw or sautéed. Make sure the meat and cheese must be cooked in a healthy way using low or no oil.
Day 6- Meat with additional Vegetables
Everything will be the same as day 5 but replace tomatoes with cooked or uncooked vegetables. Potatoes are not allowed on this day.
Day 7. Brown Rice, Vegetables & Fruit Juices.
You are permitted to have brown rice, vegetables and fruit juices throughout the day. Vegetables can be cooked or uncooked. Fruit juices should be unsweetened.
There are several tips to note in this diet:
You are asked to drink 8 to 12 glasses of water every day and on days 5 and 6 you are asked to drink 12 to 15 glasses. You can cook a fresh soup of allowed vegetables and eat; you can apply a small portion of olive oil and herbs of your choice for preparation. If you are suffering from any medical situation then this diet is not for you. You should better take the advice of a nutritionist for a custom diet plan for you.
This Gm diet is designed for a target weight loss of 5-10 kg per week. It is a very strangest diet to follow but it gives instant results. Although a group of doctors doesn’t recommend it as it has a temporary result on your body. But still, you can follow this diet if it works well for your body and type.
